ICMC crysis singleplayer map

Story

4 years ago, the NK's informed the US that they may have discovered a solution to the world oil crisis. They asked for assistance in setting up a research lab in the jungle, and stated that they were willing to form an alliance.

Your unit was sent in to oversee the operation, but it was a ploy. North Korea played on America's greed and arrogance. Once your team landed, they were led deep into the jungle. Everyone was murdered. Everyone but you. You were too valuable, and they knew it. You had information on the USí military operations around the world.†

You were left to rot in that jungle. The government disavowed knowledge of the mission, and forgot you existed.

Three years later, you escaped; battered, and beaten, but you made it.

Now the NKís have taken more hostages, but this time, the government refuses to stand idly by. You are the only one that knows that jungle. You are their only hope. You must succeed.

Features:
* Nearly everything in the level is physicalized. Whatever you can find to pick up, you can, as well as the vast majority of trees are breakable
* Light adaptive AI. Shoot out the lights, and realistically they canít see
* More than 350 particle effects
* Bugs
* Fish
* Environmental sounds for that real jungle atmosphere
* Realistic reverb in the ìprisonî area
* AI that can move through the jungle trees
* Beautifully detailed environment, and realistic Custom ToD ñ you may find yourself exploring just to find the many gorgeous areas throughout the map.
* Optimized for stunning visuals while maintaining playable framerates
* Intense action
* Very open-ended gameplay. Approach your objectives from any angle
* Cutscenes
* Automatic Saves
* Not an island. Fully natural boundries
* About 30 minutes of gameplay if you run through - much longer if you take in the beauty

*Note - I can make no guarantees about the visuals if you are using any kind of custom config. The map was extensively tested using the default Crysis visual settings. Use of a config may result in unforseen visual issues.

Installation guide:
1. Go to your Crysis game folder -> Electronic Arts -> Crytek -> Crysis -> Game -> Levels.
2. Eventually backup existing levels with the same name.
3. Copy the level folder from the downloaded file into the current game folder (Game/Levels).
4. Start Crysis
5. Open console and type in "map jungle" (without the " )

----------------------

"Cybirth: The Basecamp" is a desert-based single player map depicting the start of a Cyber-punk revolution. You one of the nano-suit equipped soldiers, serving for the US Army... only to find yourself as a puppet for a hacker who has interfaced with your nanosuit. He tasks you with a simple deed of infiltrating a US army base in the middle of the desert to perform a special task.

Unfortunatly, being hacked into a nano-suit causes your IFF readings to show you as an enemy to your own allies. You must fight against your own comrade or suffer the kill-switch from a hacker who controls you from behind the scenes.

I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to the Crymod community for their support, inspiration, and helpfulness... without it, I wouldn't even be here! I would also like to thank all of you who bothered to re-download this version of my map after already testing your patience with trying to play my two previous mostly-broken versions. Thanks!

--------------------

AUTHOR NOTES:

+ The first few minutes while you first load up everything the map will probably run slowly, depending on your computer. THIS IS NORMAL! The performance will smoothen out after a few minutes though as everything loads into the game engine.

+ I tried to do my best with optimization, but novice mistakes in map layout and design from the beginning made it harder to properly optimize. The performance should still be generally good throughout the whole map and run ALOT better than version 1, but there are a few area's where there might be a few hiccups (such as the Intel building).

+ There is a good chance there might be a couple of minor bugs left in, seeing as I am only one man. This will be the FINAL version of the map reguardless (unless I get e-mails telling me that this version is also completely broken, SOMEHOW).

+ Any questions or comments, feel free to message me up on the forums at http://www.crymod.com - dead link or e-mail me at samhayward (at) earthlink.net (note: my spam blocker will probibly block you at first and send you an e-mail to request being unblocked. Just do so, that way I know your not a spam-bot :) )

Hello,

This is my SinglePlayer Admission for the ICMC competition. I hope it is fun and challenging without being frustrating!

Story: Nomad is being sent to a previously uninhabited remote Tropical Island to investigate unusually high KPA activity. Simple!

Features: Custom Objectives
Custom voiceovers
Plenty of action scattered about a large Island
Multiple Paths to each objective for replay value

To install:

Unzip this into your Crysis/game/levels
launch game and bring down console (hit ~ in menu)
Type con_restricted 0 first (to enable console commands)
Type map mckoolisland

For feedback email me at: mckool@comcast.net (but be nice - I just started)

known bugs:

None that I have found so far! AI gets a bit wonky at times though.

Credits:

Level Design - McKool
Voice for Commander Freeman - McKool
I am using a heavily modified version of the Dense Jungle Vegetation uploaded by asge9771 (I changed all of the density settings and removed a few objects from the prefab to conserve memory.)

Additional wave sound effects provided by www.findsounds.com
All voiceovers (Except Freeman) are stock from the game except for minor edits to fit the story.

Enjoy!

SP Objective map
Designed by Ninja_Prime
15th August 2008

Description:
This is the final incarnation of my original map for the ICMC, it failed to make the top 10, but thatís no big deal as it has been worth every minute Iíve spent on this map, the changes Iíve made are more aesthetic rather than major changes to the game play. But since the competition I have discovered a few things I never knew about and have included them in this final version. Please read the change log below. One final word of warning, this map will push your PC to its limits, performance wise, as I have included lots more decals and particle effects than the original version.

Change log:
I. Added mining huts next to trench area with new objective
II. Reworked the path to trench area
III. Changed lighting and fog effect to jungle and wooded areas
IV. Re-enforcementsí arrive after last AAA destroyed (if you get that far:))
V. Removed slow-mo after player death (This caused issues when replaying level)
VI. Changed some of the AI paths and boundaries
VII. Added more mountains to map
VIII. Added more AI Anchor points (Hide spots) along paths
IX. Changed some of the inactive AI
X. Added pipes in trench area
XI. Overall tidying up of some of the FG and terrain
XII. Reworked minimap to reflect terrain changes
XIII. Added save point after intro cutscene
